You know we've moved to different states 3 times and it is hard.

I think church is a HUGE way to meet people. But the most important thing is to get plugged in. Serve in the upcoming kids programs and get involved in the womens ministry.

When I moved here, I prayed specifically for just ONE special friend...and he answered. I still have her today and I love her like crazy. Plus, He supplied a zillion more.

Praying, girl. And if you ever get to where you just want to chat, please feel free to call me. Just shoot me an email or whatever and I'll give you my number.Gayle @ thewestiecrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16880203037645597015noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1366146947732877923.post-56713792411723957272009-01-10T00:05:00.000-08:002009-01-10T00:05:00.000-08:00Been there! Are you on the Yaho...Church and homeschool groups. Are you on the Yahoo! Group loop for your area? (There is one...google it "city, state, homeschool group".) That's where I would begin. Introduce yourself to the group via e-mail and then go on a field trip or to a park day a mom's meeting. When we moved to VA, I got connected with homeschoolers before we finally settled at a church. I was so thankful for those women in the interim. The monthly mom's meetings were like a mini-church for me. I still keep in touch with friends I made in that group.
I'll be praying for you!EEEEMommyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08152965556780402197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1366146947732877923.post-29545878033456982212009-01-05T22:02:00.000-08:002009-01-05T22:02:00.000-08:00I have found that being a member of my church has ...I have found that being a member of my church has also blessed me with friends. Because each of the three times we've moved we've been able to attend the new branch of our church and meet new people. Heavenly Father knows how important friends are to us, it won't be long until you've met some great people there. Laura, you're so friendly and sincere. I enjoyed our chats in the yard as our children played together. I hope that you are blessed to share your sweet spirit with others there in your new place.ericksonzonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17812747032322652759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1366146947732877923.post-89530704850712130472009-01-05T15:46:00.000-08:002009-01-05T15:46:00.000-08:00We moved around several times early in our marriag...We moved around several times early in our marriage. I found that joining groups; homeschool, scrapbooking(LOL like I have time for that anymore) and church have worked out. Also, sometimes I have found friends at the park. But that is very hit or miss. I remember those lonely days. I hope you find some friends soon.
Blessings,
DawnAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1366146947732877923.post-54604036419349330562009-01-05T15:14:00.001-08:002009-01-05T15:14:00.001-08:00That is so hard- especially for a busy mom who doe...That is so hard- especially for a busy mom who doesn't have extra time to find connections. Going to retreats/seminars (though awkward to go not knowing anyone else) has been the best place for me to connect. I don't know if it's the extended time there or what, but that is the place I often pick up friends. For instance, I had been in our homeschool group for 2 1/2 years and really related to everyone on the surface only. Last winter I went on a weekend retreat and now some of those ladies have become my dear friends. I wish I would have done it sooner.

I'll pray for you. Bible studies are another way I've found useful. I love BSF. It really cuts past all the small talk and gets to the root of things. Maybe someday I'll have time for small talk around coffee:) Just not now.

I know, how about you move here and then I'll be your friend:)Monicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05856975629899818393noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1366146947732877923.post-10385051402340685102009-01-05T15:14:00.000-08:002009-01-05T15:14:00.000-08:00That is so hard- especially for a busy mom who doe...That is so hard- especially for a busy mom who doesn't have extra time to find connections. I'm sure you will meet some great moms there and at the homeschool group once it starts up again. What about any of the moms from the cookie exchange? Or the church you've been going to? Maybe you could invite some of the people from the cookie exchange or church over for tea or a scrape booking time? I will be praying for God to bring people into your and Ians life that will get you a group of friends there. Hang in there, it will get better!Robynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14533799163893145680noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1366146947732877923.post-75447637774988469912009-01-05T13:29:00.000-08:002009-01-05T13:29:00.000-08:00Church is the best way to meet people.
