Hello to anyone who may still be out there! We are officially moved into our new house!!! This past week has been so busy I'm almost glad that the internet connection was down....wait I take that back :) Not having the internet has made me feel like half my brain is gone. It really amazes me how much I use it for. I actually looked up phone numbers in a book, called the bank for my balance and found a receipt to remind me which library books to find...all things I would have done via the web normally.

When the house here is a bit more unpacked I will be posting photos so expect those soon (that'll help keep me motivated to empty the boxes).

I will also post a picture or two of my little guy who is now walking! Can you say FINALLY???

Oh and pictures of my 2 year olds swollen bruised chin after his fall of the bunk bed yesterday...rushing off to the doctors wasn't on my list this week but we squeezed it in.

Basically stay tuned for photos...they are coming!

Lessons I'm learning while packing

The kids may be taking a break from school this week but I sure am learning a few things. So far packing has taught me.....

  • Our garbage cans are not big enough.
  • No matter how many times we've scoured the house looking for kids books, packed them up and taped the box, I will always find another one. (Same goes for legos, lincoln logs, tinker toys....)
  • We own WAY too much stuff!
  • Two year olds like to unpack boxes you just filled while you are looking for the tape you left in the other room.
  • Essential things always break at the worst times (toilet & washing machine for example)
  • 3 days with only washing one load of clothes a day+ a family of 8 = a mountain of a laundry pile!!
  • I need more energy & patience :)

And that's just to name a few!!

Even with all of the above things, I think the majority of the stuff is packed up, we've all eaten and nobody is sick. Life is busy but good and God is very gracious!

Moving is not for the faint of heart.

Packing, packing, packing...this is now consuming my days!

I was very happy that the timing worked out for me to get a bunch of boxes from a lady in town who is unpacking this week. She was very generous and included lots of bubble wrap and packing tissue.

In one box though there were packing peanuts,

and of course my two year old and his super senses found them! He was kind enough to dump them all out and crumble them up, because it's just necessary, apparently. I'm not sure if all kids are like this or not but my kids all love to find anything Styrofoam and break it into little tiny bits.
**So much fun!**

I think things really are going well, plus the day started off with my son telling me my belly wasn't getting bigger, and what could be better than that :)
