Lessons I'm learning while packing

The kids may be taking a break from school this week but I sure am learning a few things. So far packing has taught me.....

  • Our garbage cans are not big enough.
  • No matter how many times we've scoured the house looking for kids books, packed them up and taped the box, I will always find another one. (Same goes for legos, lincoln logs, tinker toys....)
  • We own WAY too much stuff!
  • Two year olds like to unpack boxes you just filled while you are looking for the tape you left in the other room.
  • Essential things always break at the worst times (toilet & washing machine for example)
  • 3 days with only washing one load of clothes a day+ a family of 8 = a mountain of a laundry pile!!
  • I need more energy & patience :)

And that's just to name a few!!

Even with all of the above things, I think the majority of the stuff is packed up, we've all eaten and nobody is sick. Life is busy but good and God is very gracious!

You will be posting pictures of your new place, right??? Sounds like the perfect place for your clan!

If you want a surprise, and are up for one, go on over to my blog and read my latest post, okay??

Anyway, at least you're finding things to do to pass the time quickly till #7 is born! The day will be here before you know it!!

Sometimes it's easiest just to go to the laundromat and do all the laundry in one fell swoop (even when the machine is working). I say, wait until the last day, head to the laundromat with all your suitcases, wash & dry everything, fold, pack, and head to your new house. Easy for me to say right? :)

It's good that you've managed to hold on to your sense of humor! God is gracious! :)

Whenever I get a new "job" it throws everything else off. It will all work out in the end. I often have to stop and ask the Lord to help with my long list of things to do and tell Him only through Him can it be accomplished. I can't wait to see the new house:)
