Thinking back to last years races and how much fun Josiah had while there.
Thinking it was going to be especially hard to see the racecar they usually have set up for kids to sit in like a photo booth.
Thinking about the sweet photo I have of Josiah in that car from last year...
and you know what? The Lord knows. He knows how hard this must be and I think he gives us a break once in awhile. Sweet little mercies in life.
When we showed up and walked in I was aprehensive, but turned to see that this year there wasn't a race car.
For the three years our kids have attended this event that same car has been in the exact spot.
This year? A motorcycle.
I have no idea who made that decision to switch up what was there, but from the bottom of this sad mama's heart THANK YOU!
Sweet mercies, I tell ya!

That is so very touching. That is definitely one of God's tender mercies.
Laura....sweet Laura....
My eyes are almost too teary to write this!! We keep praying for you guys, every night. You're on my heart! Every day. I want you to know that.
I actually think Hannah would have loved to make a car for a race like that!!
So just so you know, this sad mama is praying for you, and that makes the sad mamas maybe a touch lighter?? Hope so!!

Yes, mercies all right! Glad you were able to enjoy the event with your kids.
Continuing to pray for you Laura. Congrats to your kids ~ they did a fantastic job!
This post made me teary eyed. I know Josiah is in wonderful care of God. I keep stumbling by your facebook page from time to time to see how things are going for you and the family. Just know that I'm always here for you and love you dearly along with those precious children of yours. After all we are family. I read this blog to my husband and he said that you were totally right just as I said so too. God truly knew what you were going to face that day. I too give thanks to the person who switched from the car to the motorcycle. Love you Laura and I am glad to see you carrying on the way you have. You are a very strong and amazing woman.
tears prick my eyes. thank you, Lord, for sweet mercies.
when we evacuated from hurricane Ike, i was thankful to return to find that the gorgeous tree in our backyard had toppled over. i didn't realize until it had fallen that every time i looked at it, i pictured christian on the tree swing.
*sigh* sorrow and missing are so difficult. i am thankful that God is with us and that He is in the details.
